The Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a part‑time, non‑tenure track position of Music Therapy Supervisor/Visiting Lecturer (Temporary Employee Pool) at the Stockton campus.
Primary Purpose and Essential FunctionsThe role supports the University’s mission to provide a superior, student‑centered learning experience and prepares individuals for lasting achievement. Faculty collaborate on policy, program development, and student support.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction for a total of two to twenty (2‑20) hours per week depending on the course/contract.
- Design and conduct educational programs, supervise student fieldwork, and teach courses in accordance with University policies.
- Participate in planning or review of educational programs and courses, evaluate program effectiveness, and make recommendations to Deans and Provost.
- Recommend educational policies and degree requirements in line with the University mission.
- Advise students on academic progress and recommend student candidates for earned degrees.
- Participate in the selection, evaluation, and advancement of faculty and academic administrators.
- Contribute to knowledge advancement through research and creative activity as appropriate.
- Participate in service as requested or required.
- Undergraduate degree in music therapy or equivalent, plus one year of clinical experience (or equivalent part‑time work).
- For classroom teaching, a Master’s degree or equivalent in the field of specialization, or a candidate without a Master’s must have equivalent educational or professional experience, with a statement of equivalence in the recommendation.
- College‑level experience.
Extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, and occasional walking. Work is primarily in a standard classroom or clinical field environment (schools, hospitals, or other health‑related institutions). Total work hours per week range from two to twenty (2‑20) hours.
Hiring Range$51.00 per hour. Compensation considers scope of responsibilities, candidate qualifications, internal equity, and market factors.
