The Coordinator, UOP Reach for the Stars Academy (RFTSSA) has excellent organizational & leadership skills and demonstrates effective communication with school-based and professional university/community partners. Under the supervision of the School of Engineering Assistant Dean for Student Success, the Coordinator will join the University of the Pacific & Stockton Unified School District collaboration to implement the Reach for the Stars Academy for summer 2026 on the Stockton campus.
The Coordinator will work with the Lead teacher and classroom staff to deliver daily curriculum, support curriculum implementation, and participate in program preparation and events.
- On-site Management and Outreach Support: Support Tomorrow Project Administrator in all administrative functions of the academy.
- Program coordination: Assist current and new academies related to the Tomorrow Project.
- Staff development: Provide staff development for teachers and TAs on project-based curriculum development.
- Instructional support: Provide classroom instructional support as needed.
- Curriculum reinforcement: Collaborate with teachers to reinforce curriculum and behavioral restorative justice.
- Observation and feedback: Observe instructional methodologies and provide feedback with guidance from Program Administrator.
- Data & operations: Work with the Administrator to collect academy data; maintain equipment, materials, and supply records.
- Daily activities: Monitor daily activities and hold daily staff meetings.
- Site liaison: Serve as liaison between the Administrator and site administrators for academy needs/issues.
- Logistics: Coordinate ordering of classroom supplies, field trips, lunches, snacks, etc.
- Budget & events: Maintain operating budget (excludes personnel), plan events, and outreach activities.
- Relationships: Build positive relationships with students and staff to foster connection with the academy.
- Marketing & outreach: Assist with program marketing and outreach.
Program/Administrative Operations Support:
- Serve as a first-stop contact for parents, site administrators, teachers, visitors, and public entities.
- Assist with oversight of budget and accounting record keeping for the academy.
- Maintain records, prepare forms, verify information, and resolve issues requiring knowledge of university processes.
- Oversee activity calendar and schedule meetings, field trips, events, etc.
- Provide Ad-Hoc reports as requested.
- Interview, supervise, and train teaching assistants, volunteers, and/or work-study students.
- Update program website pages as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree and a valid Multiple Subject Credential, or Single Subject Mathematics, or Science teaching credential, or STEM certification.
- Ten (10) years of direct teaching experience in a public middle and/or high school setting.
- Five (5) years of coordinator/project management experience in a public middle and/or high school setting.
- Work successfully with diverse students and collegial populations in a variety of settings.
- Engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in the learning environment.
- Promote and enhance diversity and inclusion in professional practices.
- Speak and understand Spanish.
- Experience with STEM-related tools (3D printing, AutoCAD, laser cutting, Arduino, etc.).
- Experience working with diverse backgrounds and cultures; advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage with culturally responsive practices in their work.
The physical demands described here are representative but not definitive of those required to perform essential functions. Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion; occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Work is mainly in office/academic environments with occasional travel. Some evenings and a Saturday morning may be required for events.
Hiring Range$67 per hour. The offer considers factors such as scope of the role, candidate qualifications, internal equity, and market/organizational considerations.
