Prospective Math Corps Tutors will join a mission-driven organization committed to improving academic outcomes for students.

Role Description

The Math Corps Tutor role at Ampact is an on-site position located in Stockton, CA. In this role, the tutor provides regular, structured math support to students, focusing on foundational skills and concepts, including algebra, to help learners meet grade-level benchmarks. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with small groups or individual students, delivering targeted interventions, monitoring progress, and documenting student performance using program tools.

The tutor collaborates with teachers and school staff to align tutoring sessions with classroom instruction and participates in ongoing training and coaching to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices. This position contributes directly to students’ confidence and achievement in mathematics through consistent, high-quality tutoring.

Qualifications
  • Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and build rapport with students.
  • Comfort with Online Tutoring platforms and basic educational technology, even though this role is on-site.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners with patience, empathy, and cultural awareness.
  • Ability to follow structured curricula and evidence-based instructional methods.
  • Organizational skills for tracking student progress and maintaining accurate records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work on-site in Stockton, CA, and meet any Ameri Corps or program eligibility requirements.
