Primary Purpose and

Essential Functions:

The University of the Pacific, School of Health Sciences is invites qualified applicants to apply for the full-time, core faculty,11-month, non-tenure-track position in the Entry-Level OTD programat the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank (depending on qualifications and academic experience).

Teaching OTD program content in both didactic and clinical, advising students, participation in simulation, curriculum development, interprofessional education, assisting with student and part-time faculty orientation, and accreditation preparation activities. Faculty are expected to attend program, curriculum, andother campus committee meetings. Other responsibilities may include contacting clinical agencies, orienting and evaluating part-time faculty and interviewing prospective students.

The Doctoral OT Program is based on the biopsychosocial philosophy. Teaching is the primary focus at the University. We aspire to promote student learning within a humanistic environment that facilitates student success to be competent self-directed learners. The role of the instructional faculty within the OTDProgram at University of the Pacific is to provide instruction and develop courses as assigned in areas of knowledge and expertise.

The successful faculty candidate will be part of a highly motivated, cohesive faculty of experienced educators working as an interdisciplinary team to deliver a forward-thinking OTD curriculum designed to meet the 2023 ACOTE Accreditation Standards. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with other OTDfaculty members within the program to provide expertise and contribute to a collaborative working environment. This position will report directly to the OTD Program Director.

Job Description and

Responsibilities Include:
  • Teach or co-teach online, hybrid, or online courses in areas of expertise using innovative teaching modalities.
  • Create or co-create online, hybrid, or in-person course content and materials in areas of expertise using innovative teaching modalities, including but not limited to:
    • Course syllabus, reading assignments, lectures, assessments, assignments.
    • Outlines and scripts for videos, voice-over presentations, podcasts, and similar.
    • Provide academic advising and professional mentorship.
    • Create a student-centered learning environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree (PP-OTD, PhD, EdD) from an accredited university with experience in curriculum development, research and supervision of graduate projects required.
  • Initial certification by NBCOT (The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) as an OTR (Registered Occupational Therapist) required.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California required by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years clinical experience
  • Active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
