This position independently coordinates student-athlete academic success initiatives, analyzes academic performance and eligibility data, develops and implements intervention strategies, evaluates program effectiveness, and provides professional advising and consultation to student-athletes and campus partners. The coordinator exercises independent judgment in identifying student needs, recommending solutions, and supporting compliance with NCAA, conference, and university requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains an assigned caseload of student-athletes.
  • Independently determines intervention strategies and makes recommendations affecting academic standing or support plans.
  • Conducts case management and advising.
  • Assists with NCAA continuing eligibility, Progress-Toward-Degree monitoring, and academic documentation.
  • Develops, documents, and communicates academic progress reports, grade submission reports, attendance reports, and academic success interventions.
  • Coordinates new student-athlete onboarding, orientation, and transition programming.
  • Assists in planning, facilitation, and assessment of monthly student-athlete development programming, community service initiatives, and engagement opportunities.
  • Manages study hall operations, academic check-ins, exam proctoring, missed class letters, book reimbursement processes, Teamworks workflows, and other institutional systems.
  • Collaborates with faculty, coaches, CAPS, Career Services, SSD, tutoring programs, and other campus partners to support holistic student-athlete success.
  • Evaluates program outcomes and effectiveness and develops improvements.
  • Represents Athletics during recruiting, orientation, and campus events.
  • Interprets and ensures compliance with NCAA, WCC, and University policies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience in higher education, student affairs, academic advising, student success, or college athletics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Education, Leadership, Counseling, Sport Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with Teamworks, Banner, Degree Works, Canvas, Microsoft 365, Ellucian, and data reporting.
  • Knowledge of and experience with NCAA Bylaws relating to Initial and Continuing Eligibility.
  • Experience coordinating programs or supporting diverse student populations.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and data management skills.
  • Experience presenting educational workshops and assessing learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusive excellence.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a standard office and classroom environment with use of computer and phone, occasionally performed in sports facilities. Work performed during standard business hours as well as frequent nights and weekends. Limited travel required.
