Senior Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our growing electrical contracting team in California. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex electrical construction projects across water and wastewater treatment facilities, commercial developments, design build opportunities, and public works projects.

The ideal candidate understands that estimating is equal parts science and strategy. You can read plans like blueprints of opportunity, spot risk hiding in the footnotes, and turn scope into numbers that win work while protecting margins.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with key industry partners and prospective customers
• Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for:
• Water and wastewater treatment facilities
• Commercial construction projects
• Government and public works contracts
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
• Identify value engineering opportunities
• Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and executive leadership
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed
• Assist in contract negotiations and scope clarification

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience (senior-level preferred)
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Water and wastewater treatment plant electrical systems
• Public works and prevailing wage projects
• Government contracting requirements
• Strong knowledge of California public works bidding procedures
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Con Est, Accubid or similar)
• Solid understanding of NEC, industrial controls, and power distribution systems
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Design-build and design-assist projects
• Medium- and high-voltage systems
• Instrumentation and controls (I&C)
• Experience with DSA or municipal infrastructure projects
• Background working with union (IBEW) labor environments
• $120,000 $ 170,000 (depending on experience)
