Senior Civil Engineer – City of Stockton
FLSA Status: Exempt
The City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department is seeking a dynamic Senior Civil Engineer to lead and oversee professional engineering work related to planning, design, construction, and maintenance of storm, water, and sewer systems. The role will supervise and direct engineering staff and consultants on a variety of capital improvement and utility infrastructure projects, impacting the community in a collaborative environment.
Work schedule:
9/80 with Monday–Thursday 7:30‑5:30 a.m., Friday 8:00‑5:00 a.m. (off Fridays alternate) and flexible with supervisor approval.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field from an accredited four‑year college or university, or a valid California Engineer‑In‑Training certificate and five (5) years of responsible experience in design, development review, or construction management of civil engineering projects, including at least one (1) year at a level equivalent to the city’s Associate Engineer class.
Other Requirements- Valid California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer
- Valid California Driver’s License
All City of Stockton employees are considered disaster service workers and may be required to report for duty or remain on duty during emergencies or disasters, and must undertake an applicable loyalty oath.
