Information Systems Analyst III

The San Joaquin County Information Systems Division (ISD) has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to fill one full-time Information Systems Analyst III vacancy and to establish an eligible list which may be used to fill future vacancies.

This critical position will support the Community Development Department (CDD).
The Community Development Department is a fast paced, dynamic environment with a mission of assisting the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission to provide the means of attaining an environment that protects the health, safety and welfare of the citizens; make the most judicious use of the county's resources; reflect the public's values; and be consistent with the individual community's values.

Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background: Potential new hires into this classification are required to successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a background investigation as a condition of employment. Final appointment cannot be made unless the eligible has passed the drug screen and successfully completed the background process. The County pays for the initial drug screen.

In this role, the Information Systems
Analyst III, at an advanced journey level,
will be responsible for providing
Information Technology support to the
Community Development Department
(CDD). The CDD utilizes the Accela
platform to automate and manage core
public services, specifically permitting,
licensing, and code enforcement. It acts
as a digital front door for municipalities
to process community development and
regulatory workflows online and is critical
to the operational success of the CDD

EITHER PATTERN I

Experience:

One year as an Information Systems
Analyst II in San Joaquin County.

OR PATTERN II

Education:

Graduation from an accredited four-year
college or university with a major in computer
science, information systems, mathematics,
business administration or a related field.

Experience:

Two years of increasingly responsible professional, analytical computer and related systems work in an information systems environment.

Substitution #1:
Possession of an approved
information systems technology certificate, or
completion of an approved information systems
training course may substitute for all or part of the
above required education. A list of approved
certificates and/or courses shall be maintained within the Human Resources Department.

Substitution #2:
Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the above required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.

Additional 4% increase effective July 2027

upon passing a background
investigation and drug screen.

Under direction, performs specialized and advanced professional computer and related systems support work within the Information Systems Division; troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves difficult systems and applications hardware and software problems; and performs other related work as required in accordance with Rule 3, Section 3 of the Civil Service Rules.
