Site EHS Manager II – Amazon

ResponsibilitiesAs the site’s safety champion, you will:
- Lead safety compliance efforts, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, site audits, and analyze incident trends to target improvements.
- Manage first‑aid and emergency response capabilities, ensuring immediate care is always available.
- Build relationships with Operations leadership, influencing positive change and integrating safety into all aspects of business.
- Transform safety data into actionable insights and engage associates in the safety mission.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leverage technology and data analytics, and set new workplace safety benchmarks.
Physical and work‑environment requirements:
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Stand/walk up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Work in environments with varying noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions (e.g., outside loading departments).
- Continuously climb and descend stairs (if applicable).
- Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
First‑Aid, CPR, and AED certification (or obtain within 3 weeks of start date) is required.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience (blue badge/FTE).
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety experience.
- Experience at a distribution center or manufacturing EHS site with 250+ employees.
- Master’s degree.
- Implemented lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
- Certified Safety Professional.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
