Job Overview
The position of Production Lead in the Shear Brace Department will guide and support employees on the production floor to ensure safe work practices, high quality output, and efficient completion of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities- Workflow Coordination & Production Execution (40%) – coordinate workflow by reviewing work orders, drawings, schedules, and material needs; ensure tasks completed accurately and on time; assist with changeovers, stage materials and post production for steel wall and wood wall.
- Leadership & Daily Direction (30%) – lead and support production employees by assigning work, communicating instructions, and directing daily tasks; provide on‑the‑job training, coach associates and model safe, efficient work practices.
- Quality, Documentation & Communication (10%) – verify production quality and accuracy of work orders and components; support scanning and documentation; communicate with Supervisors, Associates, Sales, and Shipping/Receiving; maintain KPI boards, recap sheets and lead Tier 1 meetings.
- Inventory, Materials & Equipment Support (10%) – maintain inventory accuracy through stock checks, physical counts, and posting production; create work orders and back orders; assist material handlers and perform basic troubleshooting on machinery and tools; coordinate with Maintenance as needed.
- Safety, Organization & Continuous Improvement (10%) – maintain clean, organized work areas and uphold safety and lean standards; identify opportunities to improve processes, materials, equipment and workflow; promote safe work practices and communicate safety concerns.
- 2–3 years of experience in a leadership or lead role.
- Ability to read production drawings and apply arithmetic and measurement skills.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with other departments.
- Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs and perform frequent physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching and repetitive hand motions.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Willingness to work overtime based on business needs.
The role regularly requires standing, walking, seeing, talking and hearing; occasionally requires sitting. The employee operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8–12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. The employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment. The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
Location& Compensation
Full‑time, non‑exempt position located in Stockton, CA. Pay $18.00 per hour.
