Position Overview
Simpson Strong‑Tie is seeking a manufacturing professional to lead change initiatives and improve manufacturing processes. This full‑time, exempt role is located in Stockton, CA and will be pivotal to the company’s ability to profitably grow by building stronger manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities- Design independently and collaborate with branches to develop integrated manufacturing solutions for production (40%).
- Apply working knowledge of manufacturing processes to new product design and participate in cross‑departmental product development meetings to ensure manufacturability (30%).
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify potential improvements and devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems (20%).
- Develop training instructions and/or conduct initial training of branch employees on operation and maintenance of systems (10%).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Manufacturing Automation Professional.
- Experience with machine vision systems.
- Experience with industrial/mechanical control, PLC process controls, plant electrical systems, equipment instrumentation, variable frequency drives, human/machine interface, and equipment operation.
- Experience with robotics, palletizing, and packaging.
- Experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems (preferred).
- Project management experience.
- Experience with CAD / modeling software.
The role requires standing, walking, seeing, talking, and hearing for most of the day, with occasional sitting. Employees will operate large equipment while standing for approximately 8–12 hours, routinely twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. The position may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more with proper equipment. The job may expose employees to heat and/or cold, loud noise, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
TravelUp to 10% domestic travel.
Work Status & LocationFull‑time, exempt, Stockton, CA. Remote work is not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not offered.
Salary$81,100 – $129,800 per year.
