Pay: $21.50 - $22.25 an hour

Corto Olive is a nationally recognized, family-owned company known for producing and delivering the freshest, highest quality Olive Oil products to chefs and home chefs.

This is a seasonal position located on-site at our Stockton Facility.

The Seasonal Cellar Technician supports the safe handling, storage, movement, and quality maintenance of Extra Virgin Olive Oil throughout production. Responsibilities include oil transfers, blend preparation, filtration, racking, cask consolidation, deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory and traceability records. This role requires adherence to safety and quality standards.

Corto Harvest is a 24/7 operation from mid-October – early December so the ability to work any shift, at least 6 days per week, is required and a willingness to work up to 12 hours if needed. The Cellar Technician position must have the ability to work through December to complete post-harvest activities.

This position will be primarily responsible for:
  • Executing assigned tasks in accordance with established work instructions, checklists, reaction plans, and operational procedures while ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Performing all cellar operations in collaboration with the Cellar Team, including but not limited to clean-in-place (CIP) processes, bulk and internal oil transfers, oil blending, sediment disposal, oxygen purging, and related production activities.
  • Safely operating forklifts to support cellar operations, including tote movements, filtration activities, and material handling requirements.
  • Verifying that all cellar equipment, including valves, hoses, pumps, and flowmeters, is clean, properly configured, and suitable for use prior to oil processing activities.
  • Identifying operational challenges, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall process effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Technical Services teams to achieve operational objectives and complete assigned tasks within established timelines.
  • Monitoring and maintaining acceptable oxygen levels in oil casks through the proper use of purging and sparging techniques to protect product quality.
  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date documentation of oil inventory, production activities, and daily cellar operations.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of cellar areas and related work spaces in accordance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinating and performing the loading and unloading of bulk oil shipments and deliveries while maintaining product traceability and inventory accuracy.
  • Complying with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; participating in safety training and promptly reporting unsafe conditions, hazards, or work practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent communicator amongst peers and with direct management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and successfully pass both a written and driving test.
  • Basic math and grammar skills.
Physical Requirements:

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and moderate fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 25% or more sitting, 50% or more walking, and 50% or more standing. The job is performed under moderate temperature variations and in a manufacturing environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.

The ability to lift up to 45 lbs. is required.
