Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Stockton, California.

PLEASE NOTE:
All NICU Travelers are required to float to Peds and Postpartum. They will take a patient assignment including couplet care in Postpartum.
**** CERNER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED****
Unit: NICU Level 3
Certs: BLS, NRP, PALS
EMR:
Cerner, HUGS for security, breast milk bridge which is an add on to Cerner for scanning breast milk
Charge Nurse:
Yes, each shift
Weekend Requirement:
Every other weekend but may need to work more
Holidays: 2 out of 3 majors
Call:
Travelers will not be asked to take call (transport call)
Scrub Color:
Navy blue
Tele:
Phillips monitors. There are no monitor techs in the NICU. Nurses interpret basic arrhythmias and consult NNP or MD for confirmation.
Vents:
High frequency vent, Draeger, Nitric Oxide, Nava Ventilation (only Dignity which offers this)
Neonatologist: A neonatal nurse practitioner remains in house 7p-7a. A neonatologist remains in house 7a-7p and 7p-7a when oversight of direct care on a critical infant otherwise they are on call
V pumps:
Medifusion pumps now, transitioning to the Alaris syringe pumps
IV Team:
Must have strong IV skills
RT 24/7:
Yes--1-2 in unit
Pharmacy 24/7:
Yes
Shifts:

- no block scheduling allowed
Floating:
May float to peds, but it would be minimal
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 22 weeks to term; no neonatal surgeries; high volume sepsis and respiratory; high volume preemies; significant amount of drug withdrawal babies; syphilis babies; very busy unit w/ very sick babies; large volume of IV's and TPN
Additional Notes:
No ECMO, have a delivery nurse and RT which attend the high risks; must be comfortable working with surrogates
