NICU RN (Registered Nurse) – Travel A Registered Nurse specializing in NICU is needed to provide care for neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Josephs Medical Center in Stockton, CA. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience with Cerner EMR.
Must be comfortable floating to Peds and Postpartum.
- Provide direct patient care to neonates in the NICU, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition, and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients' families on neonatal care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records in Cerner.
- Respond to emergencies and provide life‑saving interventions as needed.
- Float to Peds and Postpartum units as required.
- Be comfortable working with surrogates.
- Valid RN license in the state of CA or ability to obtain one.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a NICU RN.
- BLS certification (AHA).
- NRP certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- PALS certification.
- Cerner EMR experience.
- Strong IV skills.
- Experience with high‑frequency ventilation, Draeger, Nitric Oxide, and Nava ventilation.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Cerner EMR.
- Strong assessment and patient monitoring skills.
- Ability to interpret basic arrhythmias.
12‑hour night shifts. Every Other Weekend (EOW) required. First to float. 36 hours per week guaranteed.
Licensing RequirementsRN license in the state of CA.
