Position Summary

At Haggerty Construction, our Metal Framer is a skilled construction professional responsible for laying out, measuring, cutting, and installing metal stud framing systems for walls, ceilings, soffits, and structural assemblies. This role maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment while delivering high-quality framing that meets project specifications. Reliability, precision, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship are essential.

Objectives
  • Perform assigned labor tasks efficiently and with high-quality workmanship.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, efficient and clean worksite always.
  • Uphold HCI’s safety and quality standards at all job sites.
  • Represent Haggerty Construction professionally when interacting with coworkers, subcontractors, and clients.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Metal Framing – Layout, measure, cut, and install metal studs, track, backing, ceiling framing, soffits, and related framing components, ensuring plumb, level, and square construction.
  • Layout & Structural Framing – Read layout dimensions, establish control lines, install bracing and backing, and ensure framing systems meet project requirements.
  • Blueprint Reading – Accurately interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to ensure proper framing installation.
  • Tool Proficiency – Safely operate hand and power tools, including lasers, screw guns, cutoff saws, shears, and other framing equipment.
  • Attention to Detail – Maintain precise measurements and alignment to ensure structural integrity, quality workmanship, and readiness for subsequent trades.
  • Provide courteous and solution-based support.
  • Secure and track HCI-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify and report site hazards.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and implement HCI safety practices daily.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports, including hazard assessments and incident reports when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with construction tools and materials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and professional appearance
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Basic communication skills and ability to use a smartphone to take photos, check schedules, and communicate

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for long periods
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, noise, dust, and standard job site conditions
  • Ability to safely use ladders and handle construction equipment
  • Must be able to travel between project sites throughout the region
