Job Overview

Mechatron Trackers is seeking a Technical Project Manager – Solar Field Operations to lead the installation and execution of commercial solar tracker projects.

This is a hands‑on technical role with significant field involvement. The Project Manager will supervise field crews and contractors, provide technical direction during tracker installation, troubleshoot on‑site challenges, and ensure projects are executed according to engineering specifications, safety standards, schedule, and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate combines solar project experience, technical knowledge, field leadership, and project management skills, with a strong understanding of both the mechanical and electrical aspects of solar systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and field execution of solar tracker installations.
  • Supervise field crews, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors during installation and commissioning.
  • Provide technical direction and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and installation issues on-site.
  • Review engineering plans, technical drawings, schematics, and site layouts.
  • Conduct site evaluations and support system layout and installation planning.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, installation quality, safety, and technical compliance.
  • Coordinate with customers, utilities, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, correctly, on schedule, and according to Mechatron's technical standards.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in solar project management, construction, installation, or field operations.
  • Experience with commercial solar PV projects
    .
  • Strong knowledge of the mechanical and electrical components of solar systems
    .
  • Experience supervising field crews, contractors, or installation teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and spending significant time at active project sites.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for installations, inspections, and customer visits.
Compensation

$65,368.60 – $78,723.48 per year

This is not a desk-only project management position.

We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing a project plan and stepping onto a solar site to make sure it is executed correctly.
