Job Title:

Senior Residential Care Worker

Requirements
  • Days, Evenings, Weekends, Bank Holidays
  • Level 3 in childrens residential care (Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Health & Social Care children and young people pathway)
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Over 21 years old
  • Driving licence
  • Ability to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Experience working in children’s residential care (minimum 1 year desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s welfare
About the role

As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you’ll take a lead role on shift, supporting and mentoring your team while providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people.

Key responsibilities
  • Leading and coordinating daily shift planning and care delivery
  • Supporting staff and contributing to performance assessments
  • Promoting safeguarding and maintaining a safe home environment
  • Encouraging young people to engage in education, social, and community activities
  • Supporting healthy lifestyles, including meal preparation and personal care
  • Contributing to reports, plans, and risk assessments
  • Ensuring compliance with care regulations and health & safety guidelines
  • Role modelling professional conduct and high standards of care
  • Attending meetings and training sessions
  • Transporting young people to appointments, education, and activities
