HGV Trailer Technician / HGV Fitter / Trailer Mechanic
Location: Stoke Pay: £19.50 per hour Hours: Monday–Friday | Day shift Job Type: Full time, temporary

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Trailer Technician or Trailer Mechanic to join a busy trailer workshop in Stoke. Carrying out inspections, servicing, fault-finding and repairs across a wide range of semi-trailers to DVSA and manufacturer standards, this role is ideal for an HGV Fitter who takes pride in delivering safe, compliant and road‑ready equipment for customer fleets.

What You Will Be Doing

As an HGV Trailer Technician / HGV Fitter / Trailer Mechanic you will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting, servicing and repairing semi‑trailers to DVSA and manufacturer standards
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and EBS faults including Haldex, WABCO and Knorr‑Bremse systems as an experienced Trailer Mechanic
  • Completing job cards and inspection documentation accurately
  • Maintaining workshop safety, housekeeping and high standards throughout
  • Working efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising quality as an HGV Trailer Technician
Pay and Benefits
  • £19.50 per hour
  • Ongoing training and development including IRTEC, BPW, SAF, JOST and tail‑lift systems

What You Will Need
  • Proven experience as an HGV Trailer Technician, HGV Fitter or Trailer Mechanic within a trailer or commercial vehicle environment
  • City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Class 1 licence, IRTEC and EBS diagnostics experience (desirable)
  • Welding or axle manufacturer training (beneficial)
