Groundworker

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Straight-line are currently looking for an experienced Skilled Groundworker to join our team on an ongoing project in Stoke-on-trent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual with a strong background in groundwork, paving, and hard landscaping.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing and compacting sub-bases for paving and hard landscaping.

* Laying paving slabs, kerbs, and edging to a high standard, ensuring accurate line and level.

* Installing sand and hardcore sub-bases.

* Excavating and back filling service trenches.

* Reinstating paving, turf, and topsoil.

* Installing drainage channels and associated groundwork where required.

* Protecting existing utilities, manholes, and drainage systems during works.

* Working from site drawings and specifications to deliver quality workmanship.

* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

* Proven experience in all aspects of groundwork and paving.

* Skilled in laying paving slabs, kerbs, and edging to a high standard.

* Experience with excavation, drainage installation, and sub-base preparation.

* Competent in the safe use of compaction equipment and other relevant plant.

* Valid CSCS Card (essential).

* CPCS or NPORS plant tickets (desirable).

* Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
