Delivering Automated Control Solutions Ltd is a provider of electrical control solutions.

DACS design, manufacture, install and maintain a range of high-performance automation and electrical systems throughout the UK and Europe.

Due to significant growth DACS are recruiting For a Panel Wiremen/Tester at our Stoke-On-Trent, Burslem site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Panel Assembly and Wiring:
    Assemble electrical components (PLCs, relays, contractors, VSDs, terminal blocks) in accordance with electrical schematics, layout drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).
  • UL Compliance:
    Apply UL 508A and other applicable UL standards for wiring techniques, component selection, and clearance to ensure the panel meets UL certification requirements.
  • Component Mounting:
    Drill, tap, cut, and prepare backplates and enclosures to mount components safely.
  • Wiring/Termination:

    Perform point-to-point wiring, crimping, cable routing, and wire management (looming) to a high standard.
  • Testing and Inspection:
    Conduct functional tests, continuity checks, insulation resistance tests (Megger testing), and final voltage checks to ensure performance.
  • Documentation:
    Complete documentation such as build checklists, UL test reports, and quality records.
  • Trouble Shooting:

    Identify design errors or wiring faults and perform repairs to resolve functionality issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Panel Wirer, Electrical Assembler, or similar role in electrical manufacturing.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and CAD Drawings
  • Certifications: Technical or vocational training (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation)
  • UL Knowledge: Familiarity with UL 508A standards is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Skilled in using hand tools (crimpers, strippers), power tools, and testing equipment like multimeters.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in wiring and cable management
