TitleArea Content Lead - ELL Coordinator I
Contributes to the development, coordination, implementation, and on‑going support of the following content areas: ELA, Math, EL, Special Education. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current local, state, and federal policies, educational issues, and guidelines related to field/content and program areas (Exceptional Education and ESOL) and knowledge of state, international, and Advanced Placement, WIDA standards and resources as well as DCSD curriculum and instructional materials.
EssentialJob Duties
- Plans collaboratively with area team, school leaders, district coordinators, and teacher leaders to ensure quality instructional planning and curriculum delivery.
- Participates in and assists area with local school and grade level/department data collection and data analysis to identify patterns/trends in student learning to improve the instructional program.
- Models effective lessons for teachers in identified content area, program, and/or subgroup area.
- Identifies, establishes, and supports model classrooms in each school to support each content area, program, and/or student support programs.
- Assists schools with developing, implementing, and monitoring school improvement plans aligned with the district strategic plan and CLIP.
- Collaborates with Professional Learning Facilitators, Academic Coach Coordinators, Curriculum and Instruction Coordinators, Special Education Coordinators, and EL Studies Coordinators.
- Collaborates and aligns work/tasks with other area Content Leads to ensure coherence of the district instructional framework, district curriculum, and district strategic plan.
- Plans and conducts small groups, school‑wide, and area professional learning opportunities to address content and pedagogy for instructional improvement.
- Provides professional development experiences for teachers and school leaders within content area and supports school leaders to calibrate teachers' instructional practices in accordance with professional development content.
- Supports teachers and school leaders to access, discern, analyze, and respond to students' formative and summative academic outcomes within content area; uses assessment results to improve the instructional program; collaborates with schools with the development of instructional plans to meet the needs of scholars.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in Education, Education Administration, or closely related area from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Education, Education Administration, or closely related school‑based related experience is required.
- Requires a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate at level T‑4 or above.
