The Music Instructor – Voice, Piano, and Violin is a part-time, on-site role based at Soundscapes School of Music in Stone Mountain, GA. The instructor will teach individual and small group lessons in voice, piano, and violin, following school curricula while adapting methods to each learner’s goals and abilities. Daily responsibilities include planning lessons, demonstrating techniques, guiding practice, and providing constructive feedback to help students progress.
The role involves preparing students for recitals, auditions, and evaluations, maintaining accurate progress records, and communicating with families or caregivers about student development. The instructor will also contribute to a positive studio environment, uphold school policies, and collaborate with staff on scheduling and student engagement activities.
- Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge to support effective instruction and student development.
- Demonstrated Music Performance skills on voice, piano, and/or violin, with the ability to model proper technique and musical expression.
- Background in Music Education, including lesson planning, assessment, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Proficiency in Piano sufficient to teach beginner through intermediate students and support ear training and theory practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with learners of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
- Prior teaching or coaching experience in private or group music settings is preferred.
- Ability to maintain punctual, reliable attendance for on-site lessons in Stone Mountain, GA, and manage a consistent part-time schedule.
- Relevant academic training (degree, diploma, or specialized coursework in Music, Music Education, or related field) is beneficial.
