Prime Air is seeking an experienced Sr. Repair Technician who combines technical skills with a passion for maintaining machinery and aircraft. This person is responsible for all drone maintenance and routine service at the commercial operation location, ensuring the aircraft conforms to design and is in safe operating condition.
The Sr. Repair Technician will work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on assigned responsibilities and will train and qualify the Repair Technician team at the commercial operation site. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, be a self-starter, and work well independently.
- Drive time-based and condition-based maintenance activities
- Own fleet performance metrics
- Verify adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
- Manage fleet spare parts and inventory
- Train and mentor other Repair Technicians
- Assign shift roster and oversee Repair Technicians
- Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations
- Follow detailed instructions outlined in technical manuals
Note: This role requires physical ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and reaching. Must be able to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel up to 25% is required.
Export & ComplianceThis position may require an export control license. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to obtain such a license. The role may be subject to Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and alcohol testing if conducting safety-sensitive functions as defined by the FAA.
Basic Qualifications- 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
- Experience in mechanical and electrical integration or assembly
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Travel up to 25% of the time
- Experience with common business applications and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Experience guiding, training, and mentoring others
- Flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, and weekends
- Ability to work in varied noise levels and temperatures, including outdoor environments
- Proven attendance and reliability with consistent on-time arrival
- 2+ years of aviation industry experience
- Experience installing sub-assemblies and assemblies to drawings or CAD files
- Strong business communication skills
- Experience in robotics and manufacturing engineering
- Additional aviation industry experience

Compensation & BenefitsThe starting pay for this position includes base pay plus the highest available shift differential, with additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses.
