Prime Air is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Flight Safety and Compliance Officer (SCO) to join our dynamic team. As the local safety and flight operations expert, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and compliant operation of our drone delivery fleet.
Key job responsibilities- Audit flight monitors, ground crew, and operations to ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.
- Monitor all aspects of safety at Prime Air delivery sites, including risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Assist in creating and maintaining accurate records for assigned flight crew as authorized.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for WHS regulatory partners during inspections and visits.
- Analyze operations data and safety metrics to identify trends and potential risks, and report findings to senior leadership.
- Conduct routine audits of operations, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) site safety, and compliance, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Stay informed on and comply with all applicable Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of the organization to promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Export Control License:
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
- Knowledge of Flight Safety, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to get FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification in the first 14 days.
- A minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or Flight Safety related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-relevant background OR 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Amazon.
- 2+ years of experience in a safety-critical role.
- Current FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification.
- Current OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
- Current Adult FA/CPR/AED Certification.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
