Title:Specialist II, Insurance
Performs routine tasks relating to insurance and benefit-related matters, maintaining records and reconciling payroll deductions. Performs duties with moderate supervision as an intermediate-level individual contributor.
EssentialJob Duties:
- Processes and enters all retroactive benefits premium adjustments to ensure accurate benefits administration.
- Assists with the reconciliation of payroll benefit deductions.
- Responds to inquiries and provides assistance to employees regarding benefits programs.
- Creates presentations and reports related to benefits administration, utilizing data analysis to inform stakeholders.
- Conducts open enrollment training sessions for insurance coordinators; distributes information packages to coordinators throughout the year and during open enrollment; organizes and schedules the annual health benefit fair and screenings.
- Processes the State Health and Flexible Benefit Plan's monthly bill and prepares direct pay retiree statements for health insurance.
- Sends out 'Death in Service' notifications and handles related processes with sensitivity and attention to detail.
- Processes the SHBP Premium Billing and Discrepancy Report.
- Collaborates across departments to support the integration of benefits strategies with overall human resources objectives.
- Participates in projects related to the development of new benefits processes.
- Coordinates assigned project tasks effectively to meet objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A High School Diploma is required.
- An Associate's degree or equivalent, completed college coursework from a Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university, is preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of related industry experience is required.
