Interpreter for the Deaf

The DeKalb County School District is seeking an experienced and professional Interpreter for the Deaf. Essential Job Duties include interpreting in various settings, facilitating communication among deaf and hard-of-hearing students, translating spoken English to American Sign Language for students, attending field trips and meetings to offer interpreting services, and educating consumers on deafness and hearing loss. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or higher, passing the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment at level 3.5 or higher, holding a valid certification in interpretation through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, being eligible for a Georgia Professional Standards Commission Clearance Certificate, and passing the GACE Educator Ethics test.
