Description Prescription Refill Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prescription Refill Nurse to join our outpatient healthcare team. This vital role involves managing medication refill requests with precision and compassion, ensuring our patients receive timely and accurate medication management while maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process medication refill requests efficiently and accurately in accordance with established clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify patient information, medication history, and current treatment plans to ensure appropriate refills.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary approvals or clarifications for refill requests.
  • Provide patient education regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
  • Document all refill activities thoroughly in the electronic health record system.
  • Support patient follow‑up and coordinate care transitions as needed.
  • Stay informed about FQHC guidelines and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid RN or LVN license in the state of practice.
  • Prior experience in outpatient or clinical pharmacy settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medication management, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare software systems.
