Studio Assistant (Part-Time) — Bluebird Bouquets
Location: Stoneham, MA studio, plus event venues within ~2 hours
Hours: Flexible, approx. 1–10 hrs/week to start (may grow based on season and fit)
Pay: $20+/hour, W-2 employee, mileage for transporting items
Schedule: Requires both weekday and weekend availability
About the RoleBluebird Bouquets is a floral design studio specializing in weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations (bar/bat mitzvahs, showers, birthdays, etc.), with occasional workshops. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, systems-minded Studio Assistant to help keep our inventory, studio, and event logistics running smoothly.
This role is hands-on and varied: one day you might be organizing the vase shelf, the next you’re processing a flower delivery, and some weekends you’re running a wrapping station and cleaning up (striking) a wedding. It’s a great fit for someone who likes order, doesn’t mind physical work, and wants a foot in the door of the floral/event industry, with potential to grow into design.
WhatYou’ll Do Inventory & Supplies
- Organize and track inventory of items such as candles, vases, and studio supplies
- Help set up and maintain an inventory system; eventually place supply orders
- Own how hardgoods are stored and organized in the studio
- Keep the studio clean and maintained day to day
- Clean and put away rental items returned from weddings/events
- Keep buckets clean and shelves organized
- Process flowers as they arrive for upcoming events
- Pull and pack hardgoods needed for events
- Support wedding/event wrapping stations and strikes (breakdown), typically on weekends, with the goal of eventually owning the wrapping stations and strikes independently (or with contracted help depending on the size of the event). These hours typically range from 8:30pm to 2:00 am depending on the event hours and distance.
- Learn floral design fundamentals, with the potential to grow into a Designer role over time
- If you’re social-media savvy, opportunities to help with our Instagram/Tik Tok and marketing content
- Enjoys systems, organization, creating and maintaining processes, and has an eye for small details
- Comfortable both working independently and chatting with clients, vendors, or team members at events
- Reliable and communicative
- Interest in floral design, event production, or small business operations is a plus
- Available weekdays and weekends (schedule varies week to week)
- Valid driver's license and a personal vehicle large enough to carry boxes/supplies
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (think buckets of flowers/water, boxes of vases or candles, large ladders, wedding structures, and other awkward or heavy items)
- Comfortable working on-site at our Stoneham studio and traveling to venues within ~2 hours of our studio
- $20+/hour to start, W-2 employment
- Drive time and mileage paid for venue runs and supply errands
- Our studio is always stocked with tea and snacks
- Flexible weekly hours based on business need. This can also be structured as a paid internship if you’re a student or early-career and looking for hands‑on experience
