Job DescriptionStoneham Public Schools is seeking an experienced special educator to work with students in the Central Middle School RISE (Reaching Independence through Structured Environments) Program. The role requires training and expertise in specialized instructional methods, assessment, and research‑based best practices to teach students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP). The RISE teacher will provide intensive, specialized instruction to address IEP goals, collaborate and consult with classroom teachers, school adjustment counselors, BCBAs, and classroom support personnel, participate in data team meetings, and monitor progress of all RISE classroom students.
In addition, the teacher will conduct academic evaluations for initial and annual student assessments, interpret diagnostic assessment results, and provide oral and written evaluation and progress reports.
- Deliver intensive, specialized instruction to meet each student’s IEP objectives.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school adjustment counselors, BCBAs, and support personnel to develop and implement individualized strategies.
- Participate in ongoing data team meetings and monitor student progress.
- Conduct initial and annual academic evaluations, interpret diagnostic assessment results, and produce progress reports.
- Teach subjects in the classroom and provide instruction in a specialized RISE classroom setting.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- DESE license in Severe Special Needs (RISE) program.
- Citizenship, residency, or work‑visa status required.
- Experience working with students who have diverse social, intellectual, behavioral, and sensory needs.
Full‑time position with salary determined by the Stoneham Educators Association schedule (Step B15 – $65,132;
Step M15 – $70,896; Step M45 – $76,960; Step M75/Doc – $79,198; additional steps as outlined in the salary schedule).
