Job DescriptionSpecial Education teaching opportunity for the school year. Licensed Special Education (Moderate Disabilities 5‑12) teachers are needed to join the Special Education Department.
Ideal Candidates- Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5‑12
- SEI Endorsement
- Classroom experience within the secondary setting
- Knowledge of and experience with completing and analyzing academic evaluation assessments (e.g., WIAT‑4, GORT‑5, etc.)
- Knowledge of special education law and policy
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills
- Creating a positive learning environment for students within the co‑taught and Learning Strategies settings that align with Universally Designed Learning (UDL) standards.
- Collaborating with the Special Education Coordinator to support instruction and ensure the delivery of services aligns with each student’s service delivery grid.
- Facilitating and analyzing academic testing.
- Acting as Team Chair for Annual Review meetings for students on the caseload.
- Writing, editing, and developing effective Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
- Co‑teaching alongside a general education teacher within a core‑4 content area.
- Providing consultation to general education teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, and student needs.
- Providing accommodations and modifications to students within the co‑taught and Learning Strategies setting.
- Differentiating research‑based instruction and implementing specially designed instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Managing caseloads, including parent communication, interdepartmental collaboration, and tracking student data to identify progress and write reports.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
