Job Description

We are seeking an experienced special education teacher specialized in language‑based learning disabilities. The role focuses on providing intensive, multisensory, systematic reading instruction (e.g., Wilson, Orton‑Gillingham) and related math and writing support. The teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers, participate in data team meetings, monitor student progress, and conduct Academic Evaluations with interpretation of assessment results for reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized, multisensory reading instruction to students with language‑based learning disabilities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to plan and implement effective instruction.
  • Participate in data team meetings and use data to inform instruction.
  • Conduct initial Academic Evaluations and interpret diagnostic assessments.
  • Provide oral and written reports for evaluations and IEP meetings.
  • Maintain open, supportive communication with families.
Qualifications
  • MA license in moderate special needs.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with colleagues.
  • Training in specialized reading instructional practices/programs; certification in Wilson or Orton‑Gillingham preferred.
  • Experience with Academic Evaluation process and assessments.
  • Proficiency in IEP writing, progress monitoring, and research‑based best practices for reading, math, and writing.
  • Knowledge of accommodations and instructional methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with families.
