Reading Specialist Tutor

SEEM Collaborative's Tutoring Department is seeking a qualified and dedicated Reading Specialist Tutor to provide specialized reading instruction to identified students in surrounding school districts. This is a per diem position that provides direct instruction to students both individually and in small-group settings.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized reading instruction to identified students using evidence-based instructional strategies.
  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs and identified goals.
  • Monitor and document student progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and educational teams to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
  • Write quarterly student progress reports.
  • Facilitate small- and large-group discussions and activities designed to support students in achieving targeted goals.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and other members of the educational team regarding student progress and instructional needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Tutoring Services.
Qualifications
  • Current Massachusetts DESE teacher certification.
  • Wilson Reading System or Orton-Gillingham certification/training.
  • Experience providing specialized reading instruction preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students individually and in group settings.
Schedule

This is a per diem position with opportunities to provide tutoring during regular school hours and after-school hours. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of SAFIS fingerprinting and CORI screening.
