About the Role

Northern Lights Painting Co is looking for a bilingual HR Coordinator / Translator (Portuguese-English) to join our team in Stoneham, MA. This is a unique and vital role that bridges our workforce by supporting HR operations while ensuring clear, effective communication across our diverse team. Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Portuguese-English translator for employee communications, documents, and meetings
  • Support day-to-day HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, and employee recordkeeping
  • Assist with recruiting efforts including posting jobs, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews
  • Act as a liaison between management and Portuguese-speaking employees to ensure clear communication
  • Translate HR policies, safety guidelines, and training materials from English to Portuguese
  • Help maintain compliance with employment laws and company HR policies
  • Support payroll processing and timekeeping administration as needed
  • Additional Human Resources tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Fluent in both Portuguese and English (written and verbal) — required
  • Fluency in Spanish is also helpful as a third language, but not required
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR, administration, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a people-first mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or HR software platforms
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Experience in the construction or trades industry is a plus
