Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Stoneham, Massachusetts. Pay: $35.75 per hour, with hourly pay and bonus incentives. The role offers a second shift schedule (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) and weekly pay.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two or more years of classroom training and work experience in required area is preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Execute standard vehicle and component maintenance, inspections, and repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer equipment when applicable
- Identify root causes of basic failures and perform necessary repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Carry out facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation tools
- Adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support
