Job Summary
Engineer V, I&C – Direct hire position located in Charlotte, NC or Stonington, CT
. This is an in‑office, non‑remote role.
- Plan, organize, and prepare modifications; independently evaluate, select, and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for technical projects.
- Develop specifications and/or modification packages, define I&C design scope, and create design criteria documents.
- Identify and select control valves and instruments; develop control system functionality, architectures, and I/O device interfaces.
- Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality for the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
- Devise new approaches to technical problems using broad industry precedents.
- Interface and coordinate with multiple design disciplines and customer representatives.
- Collaborate on project teams to evaluate conditions and proposed modifications that improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
- Review and check designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers.
- Manage project teams and provide mentoring oversight to entry‑level and junior engineers.
- BS in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, chemical, computer, or process/controls engineering from an ABET‑accredited program that includes coursework in analog and digital control systems.
- Minimum 18 years of experience, with at least 8 years in nuclear power, preferably involving digital/analog control systems.
- Hands‑on experience with operating plant procedures, processes, and nuclear plant licensing.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective time‑management skills; ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Pass security and drug screening; maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel to client sites; perform walk‑downs in industrial plant environments, including climbing ladders, accessing security‑controlled areas, and entering confined and hazardous spaces.
- MS degree in one of the above fields from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Field experience on nuclear plant projects.
- Professional Engineering registration (PE).
