Meaningful Work and Personal ImpactAs a Laborer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the success of various manufacturing projects supporting the US Navy. You will play a crucial role in assisting skilled tradespeople with day to day manufacturing activities.
- Support various fabrication shops by providing assistance to skilled tradespeople. Duties will vary day to day and will include but will not be limited to: material handling utilizing forklifts and overhead cranes, cutting raw materials to support machine shop activities, grinding, sandblasting, drilling, and general cleaning and shop maintenance.
- Collaborate with shop supervision and tradespeople, production planning and program managers.
- Drive efficiency by providing support to fabrication shops as needed.
- Utilize various hand and power tools such as grinders, band saws, torches, plasma cutters, drills, and milling machines to prepare and stage material.
- Education:
High School Diploma/GED. - Experience:
0+ years of related experience. - Technical skills:
Familiarity with various hand and power tools, and a desire to learn fabrication skills. - Security clearance level:
Ability to obtain a secret clearance is required. - US citizenship required.
- Role requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and routinely lift up to 50 LBS.
The likely hourly rate for this position is between $19.12 - $25.88.
