Quality Assurance Representative III (Mechanical)
GDIT is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical inspection, with a focus on precision measurement and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical components meet the highest standards of quality and precision. You will use a variety of precision measuring tools to verify that parts conform to specifications and will work closely with our engineering and production teams to identify and address any quality issues.
HOW A QUALITY ASSURANCE REPRESENTATIVE III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
- Document inspection results and generate detailed reports.
- Communicate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, surface plates, and optical comparators.
- Experience with FAROARM CMM systems or similar technologies and familiarity with Poly Works software a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Machinist experience is highly valued and encouraged to apply.
- Welding experience is highly valued and encouraged to apply.
- NDT experience and/or certifications are a strong plus.
- Raw material mill certification verification experience a plus.
- US Citizenship Required.
