POSITION:
Full-time Security Monitor
SCHOOL:
Stonington Middle School
START DATE:
August 25, 2026
REMUNERATION:
Paraeducators' Collective Bargaining Agreement
SCHEDULE:
32.5 hours per week; 6.5 hours per day
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Supplemental training in safety and basic first aid preferred
- Experience with teenage students preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships
- Ability to relate to students in a manner to elicit their cooperation
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out instructions
- Ability to exercise mature judgment in controlling student behavior
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and adapt to a variety of situations.
OVERVIEW: A school security monitor ensures the physical safety of students, staff, and campus facilities. Responsibilities include patrolling buildings and grounds, regulating visitor access, de-escalating student conflicts, and responding to emergencies.
