WORKDAYS and
HOURS:
Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; 40 hours per week
QUALIFICATIONS
- The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with completion of a vocational-technical school program in a trade area and two years of trades experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A working knowledge of building maintenance and its related systems.
- A working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Ability to maintain a working knowledge of changes in systems and equipment.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
- Ability to read.
- Ability to describe orally or in writing repair or maintenance problems is necessary.
- Ability to provide lead supervision to assigned workers.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with town department personnel and private contractors.
- License or certificate:
Licensed in HVAC (S2 or higher) or electrician (E2 or higher) is preferred, but not required. If not licensed, 10 years of experience in related fields preferred. - A Connecticut Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is desirable. A Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required
