Clinical Support Assistant – Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates, UFPC
Location: Stony Brook, NY
Schedule: Full time

Hours:
Monday – Friday; 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $20.44 – $25.55
SUMMARYProvide general medical office administrative support. Phone coverage for own desk and overflow calls to the department. Acts as a liaison between patients and physicians.
Job Duties & Essential Functions- Assist in the overall operation of the medical office.
- Answer telephone calls and take and route messages.
- Interface with physicians and patients.
- File medical and administrative correspondence for the department.
- Process prescription renewal requests.
- Complete patient forms.
- Obtain records.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Some clerical experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette.
- 2 years of administrative/clerical experience.
- EMR experience.
- Medical office experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Prior pre‑authorization process experience.
- Spanish speaking ability.
This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for the majority of the day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and medical providers. Additional physical demands may be outlined by management.
