Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
  • Four (4) years of full‑time administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing advanced data analysis in a complex organizational environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience using Power BI.
  • Demonstrated experience to synthesize large, multi‑source datasets and identify meaningful trends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
  • Additional years of full‑time administrative experience.
  • Experience in higher education, government, or another complex public‑sector environment.
  • Experience with data analysis reporting tools such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience working with budget, faculty affairs and personnel, and/or academic data.
  • Experience supporting planning, forecasting, or resource allocation processes.
Brief Description of Duties
  • The Senior Data & Planning Analyst provides advanced analytical and data visualization support for budget, faculty affairs and personnel, and academic affairs. This role partners closely with leadership to integrate data from multiple systems, identify trends, and translate complex analyses into clear, fact‑based narratives that inform strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong analytical judgment and communication skills.
  • The successful incumbent must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to present data‑driven insights clearly and effectively, and a high level of discretion when working with confidential or sensitive data.
  • Strategic Data Integration, Analytics & Planning:
    Building integrated data infrastructure and using it to inform long‑term decision‑making.
  • Design and maintain systems that integrate data across budget, faculty affairs/personnel, enrollment, and academic workload to support short‑ and long‑term planning.
  • Identify trends and emerging issues related to staffing, instructional capacity, resource allocation, and financial sustainability.
  • Partner with academic and administrative leadership to frame analytical questions and interpret results in institutional context.
  • Evaluate existing reporting and record‑keeping processes to identify opportunities for streamlining and automation.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and Power BI dashboards, including data modeling, measures, and automated refreshes.
  • Conduct recurring and ad hoc analyses related to student outcomes, including enrollment trends, retention, persistence, completion, and academic progress.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and briefing materials for leadership as needed.
  • Support annual and multi‑year budget development, projections, and scenario modeling.
  • Provide analytical support to assess financial impacts of staffing, enrollment, and workload decisions.
  • Analyze and report faculty and staff salary data, including equity, retention, time‑in‑rank, and comparable salary analyses.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive salary and personnel records, accounting for factors not fully reflected in People Soft (e.g., joint appointments, FTE changes, prior retention or equity adjustments).
  • Collect, verify, and compile personnel data to support requests from the Dean’s Office and other University units (hiring activity, promotions, headcounts, faculty identification).
  • Track reappointment schedules for faculty and staff to ensure compliance with institutional timelines, policies, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor a high volume of personnel actions submitted to Human Resources to ensure accurate and timely processing and to mitigate risks of over payments, underpayments, or administrative errors.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, transparency, and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned and appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

  • This is a full‑time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
