Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine, the Lead Programmer Analyst is a valuable member of our Cardiology IT team. The candidate will support the technology solutions used in the Stony Brook University Hospital Heart Institute and ambulatory cardiology sites. The candidate will support cardiology applications, hardware, modalities, and infrastructure. The candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills, adhering to our high standard of excellence.
The candidate will interact with a variety of stakeholders, including physicians, clinicians, operations personnel and information technology analysts and technicians to maintain and advance our excellent level of service.
- Provides technical and application support for clinical applications, including system implementations and upgrades.
- Provides technical support and configuration for cardiology diagnostic workstations and diagnostic monitors.
- Provides technical support for application infrastructure, including servers.
- Provides technical support and network configuration for clinical modalities, including EKG carts, ultrasound machines, stress treadmills, etc.
- Assists with the planning and coordination of Cardiology IT related projects and initiatives.
- Assists in testing system functionality and validation.
- Engages in issue tracking, follow up and resolution.
- Escalates major issues to supervisor and works closely with vendors and internal resources to resolve open issues.
- Provides workflow support to users, including training and education.
- Develops documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of Information Technology support experience.
- In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, A.A.S. degree with a minimum of 4 years of Information Technology support experience.
- Experience with desktop support and networking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and have strong analytical and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent Information Technology related certifications.
- Experience providing Information Technology support in a complex healthcare environment.
- Project experience.
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen.
- Meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
The starting salary range for this position is $73,234 - $89,270 per year.
Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:
Location pay for UUP full-time positions ($4,000).
