Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time experience with facilities and/or event operations relates to any combination of the following: room setups, scheduling, audio/visual production, and/or tenant relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Supervisory experience (student supervision may be considered). Experience working with students on campus events.

Experience with inventory management.

Experience with facilities inspections. Experience working with and troubleshooting A/V equipment (i.e. microphone, video camera, laptops, etc).

Experience with 25

Live or other scheduling software systems(e.g. CVENT, Event Brite, Social Tables, Collaborate). Experience with collaborative computer programs such as Microsoft or Google Apps.

Brief Description of Duties:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, the primary responsibility of the Operations and Events Manager will be to maintain the safe and operational facilities for two student centers with a concentration on event day operations. The Student Centers offer a variety of spaces and many of our rooms can be customized; whether you are hosting a quick meeting or planning a large banquet, we always strive to bring the magic!

The Student Centers Operations and Events Manager will oversee weekend/night programming. The position supervises or jointly supervises undergraduate and graduate student employees as well as credit-bearing internships. Therefore, they must have the ability to lead a dynamic, diverse workforce. The successful incumbent will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an outstanding attention to detail.

Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Building Operations:
  • Manage the indoor and outdoor spaces within the Campus Life Centers footprint, to include areas such as courtyards, meeting rooms, common areas, offices, storage areas, auxiliary services, and event spaces.
