Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine the Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center Coordinator provides administrative leadership, management, and quality program supervision for the clinical, research, and procedural activities of the Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center. The coordinator collaborates with leadership across multiple disciplines and departments to execute a cohesive organizational development strategy aligned with the Stony Brook Medicine mission and strategic plan and maintains open and ongoing communications.
The coordinator leads the development and maintenance of successful programs to provide optimal care for the Bariatric patient population. The coordinator oversees the reporting of all required patient data to the MBSAQIP to ensure all deadlines are met and the Center remains in good standing.
- Assures compliance of the bariatric surgery program with MBSAQIP accreditation standards, working closely with the MBS Director.
- Represents the Center at administrative meetings as appropriate.
- Serves as a liaison between Stony Brook Hospital and Department of Surgery regarding Center functions.
- Coordinates interactions and functions of the interdisciplinary team, working closely with bariatric surgeons and MBSCR data manager.
- Develops plans and supports goals to improve outcomes across the perioperative spectrum.
- Serves as an educational resource for the Center.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years clinical experience with bariatric and metabolic weight loss and 2 years of leadership experience in bariatric and metabolic weight loss.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years progressive leadership experience within a bariatric and metabolic weight loss program in an academic setting.
The starting salary range for this position has been established as $63.00 - $82.00 per hour.
