The successful candidate will oversee the acquisition and analysis of research PET data and actively contribute to the activities of the Research PET Core. They will collaborate with investigators in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health to design protocols, perform kinetic analysis, and provide statistical interpretation of results. In addition, the candidate will pursue their own line of research in PET methodology and pharmacokinetic modeling, participate in clinical research, develop proposals incorporating PET imaging components, and solicit funding from public and private sponsors such as the NIH and BBRF.
Responsibilities- Oversee acquisition and analysis of research PET data.
- Attend weekly core meetings and participate in scan sessions.
- Collaborate with investigators to design protocols and provide guidance on kinetic analysis and statistical interpretation.
- Develop and pursue independent research projects in PET methodology and pharmacokinetic modeling.
- Develop proposals incorporating PET imaging components and solicit funding from public and private sponsors.
- PhD, MD, or MD & PhD.
- Experience in all aspects of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) neuroimaging demonstrated by a track record of first or senior author publications and conference presentations in both methodology and clinical research.
- Demonstrated experience with pharmacokinetic modeling, both theoretical and applied, PET physics, and statistical methods relevant to PET neuroimaging studies involving clinical populations such as psychiatric conditions or neurodegenerative disorders.
- Two or more years of post‑graduate work in a methodology‑oriented PET research laboratory.
- Experience with the uMI NeuroEXPLORER PET‑CT system.
Tenure Track position. FLSA exempt position, not eligible for overtime provisions. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine.
