The Graduate Internship Coordinator / Part-Time Faculty member provides leadership, supervision, and coordination for graduate internship experiences in the Masters of Education Administration program. This position ensures high-quality, standards-aligned field experiences that meet NELP standards and BVU program expectations across GADM 520 (Elementary Internship), GADM 521 (Secondary Internship), and GADM 522 (Focused Internship).

The coordinator oversees mentor partnerships, documentation compliance, student supervision, and culminating project alignment to leadership standards. The role bridges university coursework and authentic PK-12 leadership practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Internship Coordination & Oversight

* Ensure internship experiences align with NELP Standards (1-7) and BVU program outcomes.

* Maintain communication with site supervisors regarding expectations, evaluations, and student progress.

* Monitor student clinical hours and verify completion of required field experiences.

* Address concerns related to student performance, remediation plans, or professionalism in collaboration with the Dean and program faculty.

Supervision & Instruction

* Serve as instructor of record for GADM 520, 521, and/or 522 internship courses as assigned.

* Facilitate virtual meetings, discussion boards, and structured reflection aligned to leadership standards.

* Provide formative and summative feedback on internship reflections, discussion posts, and culminating projects.

* Support students in development and presentation of their culminating leadership project (entry plan, school improvement plan, or portfolio).

* Evaluate mentor and student assessments to ensure readiness for program continuation and completion.

Program Development & Assessment

* Collaborate with faculty to ensure internship curriculum aligns with current leadership standards and licensure expectations.

* Assist in annual review and revision of the Internship Handbook and related documentation.

* Contribute to program assessment processes, including data collection tied to accreditation and continuous improvement.

* Participate in School of Education meetings related to leadership programming and field experience quality.

Professional Responsibilities

* Maintain timely communication with students, mentors, and faculty.

* Support BVU's commitment to academic integrity, professionalism, and ethical leadership preparation.

* Engage in professional development related to educational leadership, supervision, and adult learning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Strong understanding of NELP Standards and building-level leadership competencies.

* Experience supervising or mentoring aspiring administrators.

* Ability to evaluate field-based performance using structured rubrics and qualitative evidence.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills in virtual learning environments.

* Working knowledge of instructional leadership, school operations, equity-focused leadership, and continuous improvement systems.

* Ability to build collaborative relationships with PK-12 partners across districts.

Required Qualifications

* Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or related field.

* Experience as a building-level or district-level administrator.

* Experience mentoring or supervising aspiring administrators.

* Demonstrated effectiveness in adult learning and coaching conversations.

* Online teaching or supervision experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience coordinating internships, practicums, or field-based graduate programs.

* Knowledge of accreditation standards and program assessment processes.

* Experience evaluating leadership performance using professional standards frameworks.

* Evidence of commitment to equity-centered leadership development.
