About The Role
- Install, repair and replace various styles of roofing.
- Strip and prepare existing roofs for re-slating or repair.
- Measure, cut and fit slates accurately.
- Fix battens, underlay, slate hooks, nails and associated roofing materials.
- Repair damaged or missing slates and identify areas of water ingress.
- Carry out rough casting/rendering to external walls, gable ends, chimneys etc.
- Preparing surfaces before applying roughcast, render or other finishes.
- Mix and apply materials to achieve an even, durable finish.
- Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding and other access equipment as required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment and keep work areas clean and safe.
- Work from drawings, specifications and instructions where required.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and other trades.
The Role Working Hours
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30

- Trade qualification in slating / rough casting preferred.
- Good knowledge of roofing materials, tools and techniques.
- Ability to work accurately and safely at height.
- Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- A full UK driving licence is required depending on the role.
