Senior Accountant

Stoughton, MA ONSITE REQUIRED

$75- $90k/yearly, 5-8% guaranteed bonus

Our nationwide transportation logistics client is seeking a permanent Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The right candidate will be a self-starter, have progressive accounting experience seeking a position with substantial upward trajectory. This position will report to the Controller.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • CPA highly preferred, working towards CPA, OR experience in Public Accounting required
  • 3+ years progressive technical accounting experience required
  • 3+ years General Ledger Management experience, with ownership main ledger reconciliation accuracy and month end close, external audit preparation required
  • General Ledger, Journal Entry, Financial Statement Preparation experience required
  • Experience with in fueling, transportation, distribution industry required.
  • MS Office, Excel, VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables, Great Plains experience required.
  • Experience in a busy, high volume environment.
Responsibilities
  • Involved in all aspects of general ledger accounting.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and perform monthly close processes and procedures for certain companies.
  • Record journal entries in Great Plains.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for reasonableness, accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete bank account reconciliations.
  • Research and resolve various accounting issues as they arise relating to depreciation, revenue accruals, accounts payable accruals, intercompany charges, etc.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate with AR and AP managers, clarifying accounting requirements and priorities.
  • Manage close schedules, alerting team members of upcoming deadlines for GL and subledger closes.
  • Create exchange statements and correspond with suppliers monthly to reconcile fuel loan accounts.
  • Assist in financial, planning and analysis, as well as budgeting exercises.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Ensure compliance with all related controls.
  • Consider methods and procedures to improve aspects to the finance organization.
