We are seeking a Process Vacuum Engineer with hands-on experience in the design, application, and optimization of industrial vacuum systems. This role will support the engineering and application of vacuum ejectors, eductors, liquid ring vacuum pumps, and hybrid vacuum systems used in a variety of process industries.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to work directly with customers, sales teams, and internal engineering groups to develop reliable and efficient vacuum solutions.
Key Responsibilities Process & Application Engineering- Serve as a technical resource for the selection, design, sizing, and specification of vacuum ejectors, eductors, liquid ring vacuum pumps, and related systems.
- Review customer RFQs and process requirements to recommend suitable vacuum equipment and auxiliary components.
- Develop engineering calculations and performance evaluations to ensure proposed systems meet customer operating conditions and guarantees.
- Prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts.
- Provide troubleshooting, optimization, and debottlenecking support for existing process vacuum systems.
- Contribute to the improvement of proprietary vacuum sizing methods and application tools.
- Assist with technical proposal preparation, including scope definition, equipment descriptions, and performance guarantees.
- Act as the technical liaison between customers, sales personnel, and internal mechanical engineering teams.
- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and technical presentations as needed.
- Support system startup, commissioning, and performance validation activities.
- Provide clear technical guidance to customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and performance expectations.
- Support the development of standardized and modular vacuum system designs.
- Assist in preparing technical literature, application guides, and product documentation.
- Identify customer application gaps and recommend opportunities for product or system improvements.
- Stay informed on industry trends in process vacuum, separation technologies, and energy efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of direct experience in the design, sizing, and application of vacuum ejectors, eductors, liquid ring vacuum pumps, and hybrid vacuum systems.
- Strong understanding of condensers used in process vacuum systems, including surface and barometric condensers.
- Ability to read and develop PFDs and P&IDs.
- Experience working directly with customers in technical, applications engineering, or process support roles.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required for customer meetings, site visits, and project support.
- Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, food processing, specialty chemical, or thermal power industries.
- Background supporting custom-engineered capital equipment projects or sales.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative approach with a customer-focused mindset.
- Knowledge of process vacuum equipment performance characteristics and operational considerations.
