Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mold Tooling Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design and production of medical cable assemblies and connector products. This role demands a seasoned professional who can oversee both new product development and ongoing engineering support, particularly focusing on injection-molded components.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage an internal tool shop, coordinating with toolmakers and mold design engineers.
Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure optimal product designs.
Design and evaluate injection molds for medical connector components and cable assemblies.
Develop and support tooling concepts, including gating, venting, cooling, and surface finishes.
Collaborate with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-efficient.
Work closely with external mold shops, both domestic and offshore, throughout the tool design and qualification process.
Assist in resolving tooling-related issues and facilitate design updates as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
An Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent hands‑on experience is also considered.
Proficiency in Solid Works 3D CAD software.
Capability to conduct thorough DFM and tooling feasibility reviews.
Extensive experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience collaborating with global manufacturing partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience specifically in medical connector and cable assembly mold design.
Background as a journeyman toolmaker or significant shop floor experience.
Familiarity with medical validation processes including IQ/OQ/PQ.
